We have friends, and friends of friends, who've told us about experiences in which we've felt less than because of other people's perceptions of who we are. Sometimes, we even experience it ourselves. How do we look for better representation without leaving anyone out and ensuring a truthful, inclusive, narrative is given? We do it ourselves.
Founded by NYC photographer Shanté Carlan, FLASH is a digital platform dedicated to changing the way in which we view women. Though the tides are changing, a lot of the media we consume still doesn't depict women as multi dimensional. With photos, anecdotes, and stories, FLASH aims to help women become better acquainted with themselves, and the women around us. There's a seat at the table for all of us, and we're sharing our table with you.
